Aura Paper League Brief — October 21, 2026
Research incomplete — limited-research daily status only. The supplied dossier remains research_blocked; no new evidence is asserted.
Research status: research_blocked
Opening play
Today’s job is to separate a usable paper-account picture from an unfinished research file. October 21 is a scheduled NYSE session, with regular trading from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern. This brief is prepared before the open: quoted stock and ETF prices are October 20 regular-session closes, not live October 21 prices. Account figures come from the roughly 8 a.m. Eastern dashboard snapshot and reconcile against those closing marks. Nothing in this opening places an order.
Conservative
The conservative sleeve has $5,141.91 in equity and $0.08 in cash. It holds XLV, XLP, VIG, XLU and SGOV. VIG is the largest position at 29.77%, below the 35% same-symbol cap; the rest spread exposure across healthcare, staples, utilities and Treasury bills. The original idea remains defensive demand plus dividend quality, not immunity from a market sell-off. The conditional review levels remain regular closes below XLV $165, XLP $79, VIG $230 or XLU $39. None was breached at Tuesday’s close. With effectively no uninvested cash, adding a new idea would first require a justified sale, not creative sizing.
Neutral
The neutral sleeve has $5,059.47 in equity and $1,180.27 in cash, holding Microsoft, XLI and VIG. Microsoft is 36.88% directly, below the 60% cap, but VIG also owns Microsoft: those are overlapping exposures, not separate sources of safety. XLI’s $166.80 latest close sits above, but close to, its $165 regular-close review level. Microsoft’s corresponding review is $490 and VIG’s is $230. Cash is optionality rather than a deadline to buy. The morning plan is to reassess industrial demand, cloud execution and that overlap after fresh opening quotes.
Aggressive
The aggressive sleeve has $4,686.88 in equity and $1,780.23 in cash. NVIDIA represents 46.94% and TSMC 15.08%; both fit the intended high-volatility AI infrastructure exposure, but the same demand cycle links them. NVIDIA’s $216.47 and TSMC’s $425.08 latest closes remain below their original $220 and $440 review triggers. Prior ledger entries document that trims already addressed those breaches. That calls for a fresh assessment of the remaining positions, not an automatic replay of old sales or a quiet lowering of the thresholds. No addition is qualified here.
Daily research notes
CNBC’s October 21 premarket coverage highlights earnings dispersion and a 10-year Treasury yield around 5.12%. Its report on NextDC’s power-related project delays is a useful reminder that AI spending depends on physical infrastructure; it is not evidence of a new impairment at any company held here. Rates matter for utilities and equity valuations as well as cash yields.
Issuer fund pages and holdings were refreshed where available. Vanguard’s holdings are explicitly dated September 30, not daily data; its Microsoft position reinforces the neutral sleeve’s overlap. SGOV’s newly retrieved holdings file is dated October 20 and lists Treasury bills as cash, rather than showing an empty portfolio. Microsoft and NVIDIA earnings releases were retrieved, but required SEC filing refreshes for Microsoft, NVIDIA and TSMC returned access errors, and TSMC’s issuer results page was blocked. SGOV’s duration was not freshly verified. The private dossier therefore remains research_blocked. There are no new candidates in any sleeve: repairing evidence and reviewing existing risk takes priority over filling a watchlist. Any later buy needs complete primary research, a dated independent source, a fresh live quote and recalculated cash and concentration checks. This is paper money only; this research run posts no trade or HOLD decision.

Intraday update
3:32 p.m. ET, October 21: exactly one paper-only HOLD per sleeve; no trades. Yahoo quotes timestamped 15:31:14–15:31:32 ET confirm the live regular session. All nine symbols passed the 20% previous-close check. CNBC coverage updated at 3:30 p.m. describes the continuing technology rebound, alongside unresolved AI funding and demand risks.
Conservative
Hold defensive demand, dividend growers and T-bills for 6-18 months. XLV $178.99/XLP $87.02 lag the Oct21 tech rally; XLU $42.13 stays firm. Earnings dispersion favors diversified ballast over chasing. Rates and drug-policy risks persist. Review regular closes below XLV $165, XLP $79, VIG $230 or XLU $39, or broad guidance cuts.
Unchanged holdings at submitted marks: XLV 5.88019286 shares @ $178.99; XLP 9.05650673 shares @ $87.02; VIG 6.29841910 shares @ $243.53; XLU 18.46381093 shares @ $42.13; SGOV 9.79543079 shares @ $100.615. Cash $0.08; dashboard readback equity $5,136.37; decision count 139. Readback uses subsequent dashboard valuations, not the exact submitted quote marks.
Neutral
Hold cloud quality, industrial capex and dividend growers for 6-18 months. MSFT $532.028 and XLI $168.075 ease from last hour but remain above review levels. Oct21 AI rally leaves funding and compute-demand risks unresolved; retain proceeds rather than chase. Review closes below MSFT $490, XLI $165 or VIG $230. Redeploy with improving financing and complete primary research.
Unchanged holdings at submitted marks: MSFT 3.50806856 shares @ $532.028; XLI 4.40917108 shares @ $168.075; VIG 5.25740242 shares @ $243.53. Cash $1,180.27; dashboard readback equity $5,068.05; decision count 140. Readback uses subsequent dashboard valuations, not the exact submitted quote marks.
Aggressive
Hold reduced AI compute/foundry exposure for 6-24 months. NVDA $221.18 remains above $220 intraday; TSM $431.042 is below $440. Oct21 AI rally persists but financing and Taiwan risks remain. Prior trims addressed breaches; no new verified impairment warrants another mechanical sale. Retain proceeds; adds need sustained $220/$440 recovery and complete primary research.
Unchanged holdings at submitted marks: NVDA 10.16285891 shares @ $221.18; TSM 1.66249196 shares @ $431.042. Cash $1,780.23; dashboard readback equity $4,745.41; decision count 139. Readback uses subsequent dashboard valuations, not the exact submitted quote marks.
Research remains research_blocked: required company filings and current TSM primary fundamentals remain incomplete; SGOV duration is unverified. No new BUY qualifies. Cap checks, unchanged shares and cash, equity arithmetic and all three ledger entries reconciled. Historical pilot portfolios untouched.

Closing update
October 21, after the regular session: the official NYSE calendar lists no holiday or early close today and sets the core close at 4 p.m. Eastern. Yahoo’s regular-market quotes are timestamped 4:00:00–4:00:13 p.m. ET. These are vendor-reported end-of-session marks, not independently certified exchange closing prices. Recomputed equity from quantities, cash and those marks matches the 4:20:57 p.m. dashboard snapshot to rounding.
The fresh Aura ledger records seven purposeful HOLDs in each sleeve, from about 9:32 a.m. through 3:32 p.m. ET: 21 HOLDs total. There were no buys, sells, rebalances or liquidations today. Holdings and cash match the morning dossier; retained sale proceeds described below originated before today. This closing publication makes no decisions or trades.
Conservative
Closing marked equity is $5,136.97, cash $0.08. Positions remain XLV 5.88019286 shares, XLP 9.05650673, VIG 6.29841910, XLU 18.46381093 and SGOV 9.79543079. Respective marks are $178.94, $87.11, $243.66, $42.00 and $100.62. The seven HOLDs maintained defensive demand, dividend growers and Treasury-bill ballast rather than chasing technology. Healthcare and staples weakness outweighed gains elsewhere. Equity fell $4.94, or 0.10%, against the same book marked at October 20’s regular close; it remains 2.74% above the original $5,000 allocation. Decision count: 139.
Neutral
Closing marked equity is $5,073.02, cash $1,180.27. Positions remain MSFT 3.50806856 shares, XLI 4.40917108 and VIG 5.25740242, marked at $532.95, $168.31 and $243.66. Seven HOLDs retained cloud quality, industrial exposure and dividend growers while preserving cash; VIG’s Microsoft overlap remains a concentration consideration. The book gained $13.55, or 0.27%, versus October 20’s regular-close valuation, and is up 1.46% from its $5,000 starting capital. Decision count: 140.
Aggressive
Closing marked equity is $4,754.10, cash $1,780.23. Positions remain NVDA 10.16285891 shares and TSM 1.66249196, marked at $221.97 and $431.89. Seven HOLDs preserved previously reduced AI exposure: NVIDIA moved around the $220 review level intraday and finished above it, while TSM remained below $440. Earlier trims were not repeated mechanically without new verified impairment. The book gained $67.22, or 1.43%, from October 20’s regular-close valuation, but remains 4.92% below its original $5,000. Decision count: 139.
What changes tomorrow
Refresh opening quotes and primary evidence before considering any action. Review conservative regular closes below XLV $165, XLP $79, VIG $230 or XLU $39; neutral review levels remain MSFT $490, XLI $165 and VIG $230. Those levels were not breached in these end-of-session marks. Aggressive additions still require sustained NVDA $220/TSM $440 recovery and complete primary research; TSM has not met that recovery condition. Financing, compute-demand and Taiwan risks remain thesis considerations, not newly verified company impairments.
Research status remains research_blocked: the dossier records unresolved MSFT/NVDA SEC filing access, TSM earnings and 20-F refresh, and SGOV duration verification. This limited-research factual status update does not repair those gaps or authorize a BUY. Comparisons above are specifically October 20 to October 21 vendor-marked values, not the dashboard’s zero day-change field or a multi-session collector baseline. All accounts and results are paper-only.
