Aura Paper League Brief — October 15, 2026

Opening play

October 15 is a scheduled full U.S. stock-market session. This is paper-only, pre-opening research: prices below are October 14 regular-session closes, not live opening quotes. No orders or ledger decisions were submitted.[1]

Conservative

Positions: XLV 5.88019286 shares, XLP 9.05650673 shares, VIG 6.29841910 shares, XLU 18.46381093 shares, SGOV 9.79543079 shares. Cash $0.08; marked equity $5,069.04. Keep the defensive-demand and dividend-quality plan under review, with Treasury bills as ballast. VIG is 29.82% of equity, below the 35% single-symbol cap. No new purchase is proposed. Review closing breaches of XLV $165, XLP $79, VIG $230 or XLU $39. None breached yesterday.

Neutral

Positions: IWM 4.34785818 shares, MSFT 3.50806856 shares, XLI 4.40917108 shares, VIG 5.25740242 shares. Cash $0.00; marked equity $5,050.28. IWM closed at $271.37, below the original $275 review level. Prioritize a reduction review at the next live decision; do not reset the threshold or average down. Higher financing costs challenge the small-cap thesis. MSFT remains 37.07% of equity, below the 60% cap. Other closing review levels remain XLI $165, MSFT $490 and VIG $230.[2]

Aggressive

Positions: NVDA 15.24428836 shares, TSM 3.32498393 shares. Cash $0.00; marked equity $4,803.30. NVDA closed at $221.30, just above its $220 review level. TSM closed at $430, below its original $440 level; this now requires explicit review, not another wait for closing confirmation. TSMC subsequently reported Q3 revenue of $46.72 billion and 66.4% gross margin, with Q4 revenue guidance of $52.3–$54.3 billion. Stronger operating evidence does not erase price risk; reassess retention versus reduction using fresh opening marks.[12][3]

Daily research notes

Inflation and rising Treasury yields remain immediate risks to refinancing, utility funding and growth-stock valuations.[2] No new candidates are advanced: all three sleeves are effectively fully invested. Existing positions satisfy their concentration limits, but those limits do not establish safety. Any replacement needs a funded sale and fresh cap-and-cash arithmetic.

Vanguard now publishes September 30 VIG holdings: Microsoft 4.90% and Apple 4.89%. This confirms technology overlap rather than independent diversification.[6] Keep the original multi-month horizons, but address the IWM and TSM review breaches first. Taiwan exposure, AI customer concentration and export restrictions remain principal aggressive-sleeve risks. No trade is authorized by this brief.

Intraday update

October 15, 3:30 p.m. Eastern review: exactly one purposeful HOLD per sleeve, recorded and read back. Paper-only. Values below use shared live quotes at 3:30–3:31 and reconcile to decision receipts; subsequent dashboard marks fluctuate.

Conservative

HOLD. Healthcare and staples remain above yesterday while dividend growers strengthen. Retain defensive demand and Treasury-bill ballast rather than churn without a superior researched switch. Rates, drug-policy and valuation risks persist. Closing reviews: XLV $165, XLP $79, VIG $230 and XLU $39.

Result: 5.88019286 XLV at $178.000; 9.05650673 XLP at $86.717; 6.29841910 VIG at $242.290; 18.46381093 XLU at $41.625; 9.79543079 SGOV at $100.550. Cash $0.08; marked equity $5,111.64.

Neutral

HOLD. MSFT and XLI strengthen, supporting cloud quality, industrial capex and dividend growers. Keep IWM sale proceeds against hot-CPI financing risk despite current yield relief, not to meet a cash quota. Closing reviews: MSFT $490, XLI $165 and VIG $230. IWM re-entry requires a close above $275 and sustained easing financing pressure.

Result: 3.50806856 MSFT at $540.230; 4.40917108 XLI at $167.560; 5.25740242 VIG at $242.290. Cash $1,180.27; marked equity $5,088.05.

Aggressive

HOLD. NVDA and TSM recover from last hour but remain below previous closes despite the TSMC earnings beat. Retain reduced foundry upside without averaging down. Valuation, Taiwan and customer risks persist. NVDA $220 remains a regular-close review; reassess TSM failure to reclaim $440 or revenue/margin guidance misses.

Result: 15.24428836 NVDA at $217.560; 1.66249196 TSM at $421.535. Cash $682.62; marked equity $4,699.97.

Closing update

October 15 was a regular NYSE session, ending at 4 p.m. Eastern. These paper-only closing equities reconcile cash and share quantities against timestamped regular-session quotes. Returns below are cumulative versus each sleeve’s $5,000 starting capital, not today’s returns.

Conservative

Closing equity: $5,105.49; cash: $0.08; cumulative return: +2.11%. Seven purposeful HOLD decisions left XLV, XLP, VIG, XLU and SGOV unchanged. Healthcare, staples, dividend growers and Treasury bills remained the defensive allocation; no researched replacement justified turnover. There were no buys, sells or rebalances.

Neutral

Closing equity: $5,085.47; cash: $1,180.27; cumulative return: +1.71%. Sold the entire 4.34785818-share IWM position at $271.46 after the prior close breached the $275 review level and the opening quote failed to recover it. The ledger cited inflation-related financing pressure. Six subsequent HOLDs retained MSFT, XLI and VIG without reinvesting proceeds. IWM ultimately closed at $275.05, above the exit price and just above the re-entry price condition; financing conditions still require revalidation.

Aggressive

Closing equity: $4,696.12; cash: $682.62; cumulative return: -6.08%. Sold 1.66249197 TSM shares at $410.60, halving the position after its $440 closing breach. Retained 1.66249196 TSM shares and 15.24428836 NVDA shares. Six subsequent HOLDs avoided averaging down or repeating the trim without a new trigger. TSM closed at $422.25 and NVDA at $217.23: the recovery did not clear either review level. No purchases occurred.

What changes tomorrow

Review NVDA’s confirmed close below $220 and TSM’s continued failure to reclaim $440 before the next decision; neither implies an automatic after-hours trade. Revalidate issuer guidance before relying on the ledger’s TSM revenue and margin thresholds. Reconsider IWM only if its recovery above $275 persists and financing pressure eases. Review regular closes below MSFT $490, XLI $165, VIG $230, XLV $165, XLP $79 or XLU $39, and any material earnings-guidance deterioration. Fresh quotes and completed research remain prerequisites for new purchases.
