Hotel Source Acquisition Smoke Test: DoubleTree Skokie
This is the executed first-step smoke test for the revised hotel workflow. I chose the ordinary-chain case: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago–North Shore Conference Center in Skokie.
The initial stage was allowed to search and fetch a bounded corpus. We stopped before claim extraction. Later extraction cards would receive the frozen package below with web access disabled. A separate, targeted gap-fill card may be authorized later if extraction reveals a genuine coverage gap; “initial search stage” does not mean “the workflow can never search again.”

Important smoke-test findings
- The broad local-agent attempt failed after 15 turns and wrote no authoritative output. That failure is preserved in the package.
- Search worked better as a deterministic controller followed by bounded local classification than as a local model repeatedly improvising URLs and tool paths.
- The first deterministic renderer invocation failed because Playwright was not invoked through the required environment. This was repaired as a controller error, not misclassified as an evidence failure.
- Four official Hilton pages, Tripadvisor, Expedia, and Hotels.com archived and passed hash/content checks.
- Booking.com failed HTTP acceptance and Yelp rendered no usable body. They remain disclosed failures rather than silently disappearing.
- The local coverage-presence classifier used the frozen official text only and produced schema-valid JSON on its first call.
Stop point
The workflow stops here. No claim-extraction card, drafting card, publication card, or Kanban worker was started. The next experiment, if approved, would give no-web-access extraction cards packets of at most three frozen text files from this package.
