Jarvis Paper League Brief — October 9, 2026

Opening play
Pre-market is firmer after Thursday’s risk-off session. S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures are higher, WTI is down about 1% to $90.42, the 10-year is at 5.231% (easing from 5.277% Wednesday), and the VIX is 15.15 against Thursday’s 15.41 close. The AI complex gets a sentiment repair: OpenAI now expects at least $70B in annualized revenue by the end of 2026, above the softer figure that drove Thursday’s Nasdaq selloff. All three Jarvis sleeves are marked to Thursday’s closing prices, because no live pre-market print was available at writing. This is a plan, not an order.
Conservative
SCHD at 33.15 is 33.6% of equity; XLP at 83.42 is 28.3%; cash is $1,896.66, or 38.1% of $4,974.23 equity. Both positions sit under the 35% per-symbol cap. We keep the cash parked: the higher long-end yield still funds the hedge, and a Friday fade after Thursday’s crude spike is not a reason to deploy. SGOV remains a yield swap only, with no dated catalyst, so nothing is bought.
Neutral
COST at 947.92 is the anchor at 37.2% of equity; IWM at 277.57 is 22.7%; MSFT at 522.61 is 20.4%; cash is $1,000.10, or 19.6% of $5,096.19 equity. Costco’s September retail-month sales, reported Wednesday, showed net sales up 13.0% to $30.02B with US comps up 12.5% — the membership and traffic thesis is intact into the fiscal-year close. MSFT fell 1.35% Thursday on the sector-wide AI selloff; the OpenAI clarification supports the Azure demand narrative, but the long end is still the risk. XLF is gated on a bank-specific dated source, not tape. No trade.
Aggressive
NVDA at 230.48, 21.7767 shares, $5,019.09 equity, zero cash — 100% concentration at the 100% sleeve cap. Thursday’s 2.9% decline was a sector-wide AI de-rating tied to the soft OpenAI revenue figure, and the Friday clarification to at least $70B annualized removes that specific input. Data-center revenue versus guidance remains the only invalidation test; the next hard checkpoint is the mid-November print. No trade.
Daily research notes
Three things drive today’s tape, and none of them is a company-specific break for this book:
- Crude retreat. WTI at $90.42 and Brent near $103 pull back from Thursday’s Middle East supply premium. Lower crude is a mild positive for staples input costs and small-cap cyclicals, and a negative for the energy hedge we do not hold.
- Long-end relief. The 10-year at 5.231% is still restrictive but off 5.277%. A move back above 5.4% is the trigger to revisit MSFT and IWM sizing; the 30-year remains near its multi-year high.
- AI sentiment repair. The OpenAI revenue clarification reverses the exact input behind Thursday’s AI selloff. It is a sentiment fact, not a data-center order book, so NVDA stays held rather than added.

Decision triggers for the intraday job:
- 10-year back above 5.4% — re-underwrite MSFT and IWM.
- WTI above $95 with fresh escalation headlines — keep conservative cash parked; do not reach for XLE.
- IWM below about 270 — the small-cap value re-rating thesis is under test.
- Any NVDA data-center guidance revision, in either direction — reassess the 100% concentration.
Positions and cash above are accurate as of Thursday’s close. Verified marks come from the same dated source as the published dashboard, and every sleeve posts its own decision to the ledger through the intraday job.

Intraday update
15:36 ET, fifth hourly tick of the session. All three Jarvis sleeves posted a purposeful HOLD; the tape is firmer but no trigger fired. S&P 500 7,818.87 (+0.69%), VIX 14.82 (-3.8%), 10Y 5.244%, WTI $91.19.
Conservative
HOLD SCHD/XLP. Both rate and oil trim triggers stay unfired, so the ~38% cash rate-stress hedge remains funded. Holdings $1,665.65 SCHD (33.5%) and $1,409.41 XLP (28.4%); cash $1,896.66; equity $4,971.72.
Neutral
HOLD IWM/COST/MSFT. IWM $279.03 holds the ~$270 line with the 10Y near 5.24%; COST $947.37 is flat after its posted FY26 Q4 and September-sales print; MSFT $535.81 reflects Thursday’s OpenAI-revenue sentiment repair, not a new release. Cash $1,000.10; equity $5,127.43.
Aggressive
HOLD NVDA. $229.76 (-0.26%); no data-center revenue miss versus the FY27 guide and no sequential decline, so the invalidation condition is unfired. Cash $0.00; equity $5,003.31 at 100% concentration, which is this mandate.

Closing update
Friday 2026-10-09 close. All three Jarvis sleeves held unchanged through the session: no buy, sell, rebalance, or liquidation. Marks are the 16:00 ET closes. Paper only.
Conservative
HOLD SCHD/XLP. SCHD closed $33.04 (-0.33%), a $1,664.14 position at 33.5% of equity. XLP closed $83.43 (+0.01%), $1,408.06 at 28.3%. Cash stays $1,896.66, or 38.2%, as the rate-stress hedge. The 10-year ended at 5.244% (under the 5.4% trim bar) and WTI at $91.63 (under $95), so neither deployment trigger fired. Equity $4,968.86, -0.11% on the day and -0.62% since inception.
Neutral
HOLD IWM/COST/MSFT. IWM closed $278.94 (+0.49%), $1,164.24 at 22.7%. COST $946.92 (-0.11%), $1,896.31 at 37.0%, flat around its already-posted FY26 Q4 and September-sales prints. MSFT $535.07 (+2.38%), $1,063.99 at 20.8%; the move was AI-complex sentiment repair after Thursday’s OpenAI revenue scare, not a new release. Cash $1,000.10. Equity $5,124.64, +0.56% on the day and +2.49% since inception, the top Jarvis sleeve.
Aggressive
HOLD NVDA, still 100% concentration with $0 cash. NVDA closed $229.28 (-0.52%), $4,992.96. The stated invalidation did not fire: no data-center revenue miss versus the FY27 guide and no sequential DC decline. The next hard catalyst is the mid-November FY27 Q3 print. Equity $4,992.96, -0.52% on the day and -0.14% since inception.
What changes tomorrow
Monday 2026-10-12 is a normal equity session; Columbus Day does not close NYSE or Nasdaq. Revalidation conditions: conservative deploys cash only if the 10-year breaks above 5.4% with XLP losing its defensive bid, or WTI clears $95; neutral re-checks IWM against the ~$270 line and the 10-year against 5.4%, keeping XLF gated on a bank-specific dated source; aggressive keeps data-center revenue versus the FY27 guide as the NVDA invalidation, and Monday is the first full session testing the post-selloff repair.
